Lunch Time Cleaning Standards
Purpose
This document specifies the cleaning standards that must be met during and after every puppy feeding session. Maintaining rigorous hygiene around food preparation, feeding, and clean-up is essential for infection control and compliance with our licensing conditions.
1. Scope
These standards apply every day that puppy feeding takes place. The feeding area is typically used for up to three feed sessions per day (depending on the number of puppies and their individual schedules). Each session has its own cleaning requirements, with a comprehensive deep clean after the final feed.
2. Post-Feed Cleaning Checklist
The following tasks must be completed after every feed session:

3. End-of-Day Deep Clean (After Final Feed Only)
In addition to the standard post-feed tasks, the following must be completed after the last feed session of the day:

4. Products
- Crate disinfection: RSPCA Anti-Viral Surface Cleaner or Pro-Kleen Kennel Kleen (diluted as per manufacturer's instructions)
- Bowl washing: Hot water with pet-safe detergent, followed by rinse, or run through dishwasher on hot cycle
- Surface cleaning: Flash Multi-Surface Cleaner for counters; Pro-Kleen for floor
5. Accountability
The staff member responsible for supervising the feed session is also responsible for completing the cleaning. The manager on duty will verify the standard of cleaning before the area is signed off. Repeated failure to maintain standards will be addressed through the performance management process.
